JD Vance Goes on 8-Post Tirade Against Harris on Social Media

Nearly two months after accepting the Democratic nomination and less than 36 hours ahead of her debate with Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris unveiled the policy page on her campaign website.

But she was quickly and heavily scrutinized for her views, especially by her rival’s running mate, J.D. Vance. The Ohio Senator took to social media to address every one of Harris’ policy points, which were published on her website less than two months before the highly anticipated presidential election.

Vance emphasized that the Democratic nominee took over “50 days” to “finally” publish her policy page. He then created a thread of eight posts which detailed his reaction to each point. The controversial GOP running mate began by rebutting Harris’ “claims” that she wants to “cut taxes for middle class families,” saying that she suggests doing so through “IRS audits for working families.”

He described this as a “horrendous experience” that citizens would face even if they had “done nothing wrong.” He also critiqued her “more affordable” rent and home ownership plan which consists of giving “downpayment assistance” that would “likely raise the average” cost of buying a home “by the same amount.”

Harris also promised that she would make it easier to build small businesses, but Vance countered this by pointing out that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has imposed “at least 47 rulemakings” under her watch. Regarding the well-recognized challenges of the higher education system, Vance said that Harris will “double down” on the current issues rather than “address” them. She would do this by forgiving student loans and increasing subsidies that “drive up tuition costs.”

Additionally, the Ohio senator accused Harris of promising “high-quality childcare” but has yet to detail “what she might mean” by this proposal. He said she conflates “American energy policy” with her broader “fight against global warming,” including claiming credit for the so-called benefits of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Lastly, Vance addressed the “most destructive” aspects of the vice president’s border security proposal, which he said is her desire to give more than eight million illegal migrants “earned pathway to citizenship.”
