For the first time in a long time, English singer and actress Suki Waterhouse has publicly opened up about her breakup with American actor Bradley Cooper nearly ten years ago. Now, years later, Waterhouse has publicly reflected on her past heartbreak, describing it as a “difficult” breakup. Both parties have since moved on, with Waterhouse being married to actor Robert Pattinson last year, and Cooper being in and out of other romantic relationships in their industry.
Recently, British Vogue magazine released its Agust 2024 cover story, which featured an interview with Waterhouse. While reflecting on the topic of her past relationship with Cooper, the English actress opened up about the difficult obstacles of going through a breakup, especially as public as her and Cooper’s. In the interview, Waterhouse noted that when she was not able to explain her side of the story following her and Cooper’s relationship, she felt isolated due to the strong and negative publicity of the matter. Waterhouse and Cooper dated one another from 2013 to 2015 where the two eventually found love again thereafter and even had children.
As Waterhouse was with Cooper in her twenties, the English actress described the love in her relationships appeared to be superficial, with Waterhouse even describing it as “fetishization”. Waterhouse further explained that that kind of love only leads to turmoil in a relationship. Waterhouse stated that it is both delightful and shocking at the same time.
Further into her interview, Waterhouse opened up about her most recent relationship, which was her marriage to Rober Pattinson. The two met in began dating in 2018, after Waterhouse had recently dated Mexican actor Diego Luna. Waterhouse revealed that she and the Twilight star connected over “uncomfortableness” and planned to start a family together, where the two welcomed a daughter in March of this year. Waterhouse and her newborn child were both featured on the cover of British Vogue’s August 2024 edition.
