MSNBC Hosts Mock Voters Concerned About Immigration

During MSNBC’s Super Tuesday coverage on March 5, its election night panel mocked the exit polls that showed Virginia Republicans named immigration as the top issue in the 2024 election, the Washington Examiner reported.

In one segment posted on X, MSNBC hosts Jen Psaki, Joy Reid, Rachel Maddow, and Nicolle Wallace were discussing exit polling from the Super Tuesday states. Psaki, Biden’s former press secretary, said that as someone who lived in Virginia, she was stunned that exit polling out of the state showed that Republican voters said immigration was the number one issue in the election.

As the panel chuckled, host Rachel Maddow joked that Virginia did share a border with West Virginia.

However, as Republicans like Texas Governor Greg Abbott have said, under President Biden’s open border policies, every state is now a border state.

Virginia may share a border with West Virginia as Maddow joked, but thanks to the Biden administration’s border policies, just weeks before the Virginia primary, an illegal alien from Venezuela was arrested for raping a 14-year-old Virginia girl.

The Campbell County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office confirmed in late February that Renzo Mendoza Montez, 32, entered the country near El Paso, Texas, in September 2023 where he was apprehended by Border Patrol.

Border Patrol released Mendoza Montes pending processing after a brief detention. He eventually ended up in Campbell County, Virginia where he raped an underage girl.

According to Super Tuesday exit polling from the Washington Post, about 40 percent of Republican primary voters in both Virginia and North Carolina named immigration as the most important issue in the 2024 election.

In a Gallup poll released last month, immigration was the top issue for American voters heading into the 2024 election, with 28 percent of respondents naming immigration as the most pressing problem in the United States today. That was an 8-point increase from Gallup’s survey in January.
