Republican Kentucky Congressman James Comer is ripping into Vice President Kamala Harris for what he sees as her complete failure to control immigration despite having been appointed “border czar” by President Joe Biden.
Comer sat down for an interview with Gowdy on his Fox show Sunday Night in America on August 11. He told Gowdy that the U.S.-Mexico border was the only job that Biden “ever put her in charge of” and that she utterly failed.
Astonishingly, mainstream news media is repeating falsehoods about Harris’ role that perfectly serve the interests of the Democrat party, which has allowed Harris to slot herself into the candidacy for president despite never having won a primary. Harris took the position when President Biden, widely known to be suffering from increasing senility despite Democrat spin to the contrary, announced he was stepping down from the race in July.
Nearly all mainstream media is falsely claiming that Republicans are lying when they claim Harris was named “border czar.” For example, the liberal outlet Mediaite continues to lie about this, claiming she was never given that role.
Outlets desperate to back Harris resort to pedantry, claiming that since she was never formerly given that title, and since she was “only” in charge of immigration at the border, that she was not the “border czar.”
Comer is having none of it. He told Gowdy that he will use his chairmanship of the House Oversight Committee to probe the Biden Administration’s handling of the border crisis and Harris’ role in that.
Gowdy gave Comer plenty of opportunities to expound on his position. The host noted that Harris denies that she was tasked with overseeing the border, but President Biden has clearly stated that he asked her to complete this job.
Comer responded by saying that despite Harris being responsible for stemming the tide of illegal immigration, “there’s no evidence” that she did anything but “invite more people to come across.”
Harris is famously slippery with reporters who question her about her role in immigration. When pressed by an NBC reporter on whether she had been to the Southern border herself, Harris initially refused to answer the question directly. Finally, she said “we” had been to the border (note that she herself did not), and followed up by saying that she had not been to Europe, either.
