Since the 46th president of the United States Joe Biden began his term of service in January of 2021, he has presided over a period of widespread international chaos and appeared powerless to prevent a deterioration of peaceable relations on the global stage. In late 2021, Biden orchestrated the botched withdrawal of the American military from Afghanistan which resulted in the deaths of 13 servicemen. Following this weak and embarrassing debacle, enemies of America and the west became emboldened. After giving in to Vladimir Putin and ending the sanctions on the country imposed by Trump which allowed the Kremlin to drill for oil in the North Atlantic, Putin invaded Ukraine, returning war to the European continent for the first time since 1945. Over half a million casualties are estimated to have occurred.
The conflict began on February 24th, 2022. Swarms of Russian missiles were leveled against cities across Ukraine. After this, the Russian military moved swiftly, capturing sizeable amounts of territory. In the following weeks, such progress had been made that forces had reached the suburbs of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. They then began attempts to bombard Kharkiv. This has thus far proven to be the peak of Russian military success in the conflict, and the closest they had reached to dealing a mortal wound to Ukraine. In the aftermath of these early victories, Ukraine mobilized and launched a resistance. This fighting spirit, paired with the reality that the Russians experienced serious supply chain problems which resulted in food shortages and destroyed troop morale altered the situation on the front.
As the war continues to rage in Ukraine, at the southern border of America a crisis continues to unfold. Millions of migrants have entered the nation in just a few short years, and thousands continue to cross every day and are bussed to major cities. The Democratic Senator Maggie Hassan claimed Biden bore the blame for the increasingly worse crisis.
