The Rise of Frogan
Morgan, widely recognized in the gaming community as Frogan, is known for her captivating Twitch streams focused on horror and hunt games. Her talent and consistent streaming earned her Twitch Affiliate status in April 2020 and elevated her to a Twitch Partner by April 2021. In addition to her gaming career, she works as a public health expert, maintaining a dual professional life.
At 27, Frogan has formed partnerships with notable brands like Crytek, Huntthegame, Madrinas, and Phasmophobiaofficial. Her journey on Twitch was marked by both growth and controversy, culminating in a 30-day ban due to remarks regarding the US military.
Controversial Remarks
The situation escalated with a viral clip where Frogan commented, “I will never have any f***ing pity for any f***ing soldiers. US military? Boo, f***ing who. I hope you get PTSD,” Morgan said. This statement was perceived as offensive, resulting in significant backlash from Twitch users who felt her comments disrespected the troops.
“I go onto clarify in the clip that I do not mean ‘all’ military, but specifically those with no remorse. What I said was out of frustration as they are currently bombing my family in the name of ‘liberation’. I realize that wishing people harm isn’t the best way to talk about these issues and that I could have talked about these topics in a more sensitive way,” Morgan explained.
Despite her apology, the controversy continues to grow.
A Complex Situation
Frogan claimed that her ban was due not only to her military comments but also to accusations of a targeted hateful comment perceived as anti-Semitic. The criticism involved a Twitch tier list associated with the brand Sabra, which is noted for Middle-Eastern food products, further complicating her standing with Twitch and her audience.
