Widow of Rally Shooting Victim Says Trump Hasn’t Called Family

Joe Biden, the sitting president of the United States is up for re-election in the fast approaching 2024 presidential election. Currently, the contest is forecast to be a rematch of the 2020 contest in which the 45th President Donald Trump was defeated by Biden, a long standing career public servant from Delaware and Pennsylvania. While both men are unpopular, Joel B. Pollak, a writer for Breitbart News, pointed out many of Bidens policy alterations that rescinded his predecessors (Trumps) policies. Pollak argued that Bidens decisions have made the United States less safe.

Recent poll numbers have not produced calming results for the incumbent president. In another report, the former president Trump is now leading Biden in several swing states. While polls are often misleading, this is not a strong sign for the incumbent President and definitely a cause for worry as the general election nears ever closer. The first presidential debate was held on June 27th, and Biden appeared incompetent and incoherent in the contest, struggling to answer questions. Following this debate, he has faced many calls from prominent Democrats to drop out of the presidential race. Thus far, Biden has remained firm and maintained that he is the party torchbearer.

Trump appears to be in the best position to win the race and even gained mass sympathy from political enemies after he was nearly assassinated while holding a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old gunman, used his father’s AR-15 rifle while positioned on a rooftop several hundred yards away from the rally and opened fire. By a stroke of luck, Trump narrowly survived, coming inches away from death. One rallygoer was not so lucky. Corey Comperatore, a firefighter, was attending the rally with his family and was tragically killed by a stray bullet when the gunman opened fire. Mrs. Comperatore refused a call from President Biden but also said that Trump has not yet called her.
